SQUADS are filling up for the ‘returning home’ derby between Burnley and Blackburn next week.
The seasonal under 24s match at Burnley RUFC is a joint RFU, Lancashire Development Centre and local Rugby Club initiative to reconnect players with their local rugby clubs.
The aim of the ‘derby’ is to attract players who are returning back to the area from work or study – or those who have stopped playing but want to get reconnected with their local rugby club.
The match, which will be played under floodlights, takes place at Burnley RUFC, Holden Road on Friday, December 28 at 7.00pm.(6pm meet for Players) Burnley coach Simon Finnan said: “The aim is to bring people together, whether it is to play or watch these special under 24s games. All are welcome to attend.”
