BLACKBURN Hawks will be looking to keep up the pressure on leading pair Billingham Stars and Whitley Warriors when they travel to Coventry Blaze tonight (5pm).

Hawks sit third in the English National Ice Hockey League five points off top spot but with a trip to Coventry followed by the reverse fixture next weekend, Jared Owen’s side will be hopeful of making inroads into the leading duo.

Blaze sit in the bottom three but can take heart from an impressive home record where they have lost just once all season.

Hawks will be looking to continue a recent run of good form which saw them pick up back to back wins last weekend which left coach Owen pleased with his side’s progress.

Meanwhile, the Hawks are likely to be backed by a sizeable home support when the Blaze make the return trip to Blackburn on Sunday week (5.45pm).

The ice hockey side have joined forces with Blackburn Rovers for a special ticket promotion which gives fans the chance to watch Henning Berg’s side take on current Championship leaders Cardiff City on Friday night, and the Hawks clash with Coventry on the following Sunday, for £10.

A total of 1,000 tickets are on offer priced £10 for adults and £5 for concessions and are available from the Roverstore at Ewood Park, Oneroverstore in Blackburn town centre or by calling 0871 2221444.

Fans who visit Ewood Park should retain their tickets, which are available on a first-come first-served basis, for entry into the Hawks clash on the Sunday.
