THIS has been a year of fairytale weddings. Five weeks ago the nation was captivated by Prince William and Kate Middleton as they tied the knot at Westminster Abbey.
But for all of the royal splendour of that occasion, it couldn’t match the joy, happiness, and the true fairytale, that saw Rick Clements hitched to his sweetheart Leanne Isaacs at the weekend.
Sgt Clements was left brutally injured in a Taliban bomb blast last year, losing his legs, and unable to have children.
Leanne took time off work and loyally nursed him through a gruelling time in hospital.
Sgt Clements, who joined his comrades in a homecoming parade in Clitheroe, feared that his injuries would be too much for his girlfriend, but she was certain of their future together.
Leaving was never an option for Leanne.
Many could not have done what she did.
But she showed that love can conquer all.
After going through so much they deserve all of the luck in the world as they start their new life together.
