Well we had our annual family bet and my annual trip to a betting shop this weekend.
All because of the Grand National.
I haven’t got a clue about horses or horse racing but we do it!
And I watched the Boat Race last weekend too and I know even less about rowing, Oxbridge (how come it’s not Camford?), tides or cox, bows or strokes?
But I still watched it!
We always tend to watch the FA, sponsored by whoever, Cup Final, even when Rovers aren’t in it! (sic) (joke)!
And the League Cup, Milk Cup, Coca Cola, or whatever!
At one time the FA Cup Final was the only live match of the eyar, curtains drawn, beer & pork pies in!
There are certain ritual TV “watches” aren’t there?
The Queen’s Christmas Speech? That must be a must?
But why?
And hurtling towards us…the Royal Wedding. Will you or won’t you?
What have you, if anything, planned?
With children aboard, all bikes, paddling pools etc stowed, we hitched up and towed our little caravan all the way to the Yorkshire coast 30 years ago on the day Charles and Diana got hitched.
Almost no cars on the road, no pubs offering lunches, not a great deal going on?
So what will you be doing on 29th April?
Will you be glued to the TV?
Will you be out street partying?
Let us know?
We have the day off, well most of us will do…of all the great TV rituals what’s your favourite, what can’t you stand?
