THIS week I will mostly be banging on about … well those temporary traffic lights on Burnley Road in Rawtenstall.
There was a snarl up but the police said they could not attend.
Why? Well the traffic was too dense for the patrol car to get through.
There was a traffic jam. Can you believe it? (Steam, ears, you can picture the scene).
It took a County Councillor Tony Winder to take direct action to sort it. I hope he complains formally.
Rossendale Borough Council had their big cuts meeting last week. How many members of the public turned up?
Three (sad thing is I know two of them).
That’s the problem with democracy, nobody cares.
Turning to my other hobby horse. AV. After last week’s gripping column I was waiting for the floodgates to open and telephones to light up.
In reality, even my wife, who is my number one fan, appears to have lost interest.
And finally, I am making slow but steady progress on my triathlon training.
Sunday is a big day. I head out on my bike for the first time.
So if you see a big Fatty in a fluorescent jacket that says “slow wide load” it is me, so give me a wide birth. Do not call the police.
They probably wouldn’t be able to get there!
