Despite the fact that we have had much publicity over the past 24 hours regarding the treacherous conditions on the lane we fail to see a snow plough or gritter pass by.
There was an interesting article in the Lancashire Telegraph reporting that Nigel Evans, our local MP, has declared the situation ‘a state of emergency’.
I hope the local councillors are reading this article too!
Instead we have had calls in the form of reporters from the Sun, the Daily Express and the Daily Mail all wanting to cover a story on the lack of action by the local council to clear roads into outlining villages and local communities.
The school had re-opened so the children were taken down the lane early this morning by daddy in time to meet their school transport, in freezing conditions!
No doubt this will be the same routine for the foreseeable future too.
