ISN’T it wonderful that Prince Charles shows such an interest in East Lancashire?
It would be so easy for him to ignore the problems of this region but that is not his style. He has been steadfast in his support for projects in the area, in particular Burnley.
Recently he named the town as his Prince’s Trust charity’s “number one” priority.
The work that takes place through the charity has had a huge impact on the town by helping young people gain the training and confidence they need to make the most of themselves.
And now he has told bosses at Burnley FC that he hopes to visit and see the Clarets in action in the future, and avidly follows the side’s results.
If he comes to a game at Turf Moor he can be assured of a warm Lancashire welcome.
And why not visit their rivals Blackburn Rovers, who are also flourishing under Sam Allardyce?
Burnley are going great in their first Premier League season and the town is on a high after the club’s promotion to the top flight.
Prince Charles visited the town earlier this year and continues to back the people and the authorities in a number of ways.
The support of His Royal Highness is a breath of fresh air.
