It’s getting really scary at Scare Kingdom Scream Park as we get closer to our VIP launch and public opening at the end of the month.
We have completed construction of the main attractions ‘Dead Alive’ and ‘Blood Bath’, and are just putting the finishing touches in place. The eight-acre cornfield is more than 6ft tall and is a confusing maze-like layout that has been brought to life with the addition of an old decrepit farmhouse filled with broken antiques and cobwebs and a sinister sanatorium where the infamous lunatics lurk!
Guests will meet a variety of spooky characters that were cast last week following a day of auditions at the Swallow Hotel, near Preston – some of the hotel guests got a shock as zombies and vampires arrived to impress the judging panel!
The marquee covers for the newly constructed ‘Blood Bath’ attraction are now in place and from the outside it looks quite serene – but inside a labyrinth of pitch black passageways, tunnels and horrific sets including a ‘Butchery’, ‘Autopsy Room’ and ‘Mortuary’ await those who dare to enter!
In the visitor centre our ‘theme team’ are ensuring the atmosphere of Halloween stretches right across the park with special lighting, smoke effects and are our ‘Frightful Photography’ section, where guests will be able to have their photo taken with our scary characters as a spooky souvenir.
We are still waiting for ‘Sir Scare-a-Lot’ to arrive from the USA – he is an elaborate talking statue who will deliver frights as guests wait to enter the park, hopefully his flight won’t be delayed!
