Well, the eight-acre cornfield sowed at Scare Kingdom earlier in the year has grown and, in many places, is well over 6ft tall!
Once you enter the cornfield it will be easy to get lost and coupled with the eerie silence and total darkness, guests will be overwhelmed at Scare Kingdom Scream Park, when it opens in October.
Unlike last year’s field for ‘HEX in the Harvest’, this area of the park is set far away from any sources of light – the only lighting will be faint flickering candles (battery operated!), strobe lights in the lunatic asylum section, and billowing fog rolling through the deserted buildings. Our icon characters have been in development since my last post, and we have partnered with several high profile American mask and special effects companies to make sure each character is as impressive as it is terrifying.
In ‘Dead Alive’ guests might meet ‘Daemion Strange’ the Pumpkin Man, while in ‘Blood Bath’ watch out for the chainsaw-wielding mad ‘Doctor Van Der Blood’.
Using a clever mix of prosthetics, latex masks and makeup, our characters will become startlingly real after Annie Cabasa, our Makeup Effects Designer, and her team have waved their magic wands.
The disorienting layout for the undercover ‘Blood Bath’ attraction has now been finalised, and construction will begin next to the visitor centre at Hawkshaw Farm Park at the end of August.
The devilish design features dead ends, cells, a mortuary and an autopsy room, and the experience ends in a top secret area which I can’t tell you anything about – you will have to come and see it for yourself in October – if you dare!
