It is becoming more of an annoyance than anything else. The idea of taking a selfie almost every single occasion.
I am not a selfie person. In fact I am not a picture person at all. I hate being pictured as I normally don’t come out looking very well. My hatred of being pictured began when I was a kid and I had to have the customary picture taken for a passport.
Let’s just say the picture did not come out that well and ever since I have avoided any pictures.
The only time I will take a selfie is with my kids. But the same cannot be said for anyone else.
The odd selfie is fine but then there are the selfie kings and queens among us who go a little crazy taking pictures of themselves over and over again.
Now, I am faced with the selfie stick. Yes, this is a stick on to which one puts one’s camera to ensure you get a better angle. There are actually people walking around the Trafford Centre with these sticks so they get the best shot imaginable.
I may be sounding like a forty something who has seen got the best years behind him but this madness has to stop. The worse thing ever is when the selfie king...and I will not mention his name took a picture of me recently. I then got a call from Bradford of all places saying they had seen my picture on Facebook.
I was not a happy chap. But the selfie king is good fellow I suppose so I did not make an issue of it.
Whilst posting a picture of yourself is bad enough I have started getting an increasing amount of people wanting to send me a picture about what they about to eat.
Do I want to know what you are eating?. This has to be most pointless action ever undertaken by a human being.
I know in the future we will probably do something even more pointless but for now taking pictures of the food ranks right up there with sending a smiley face instead of saying...’That’s alright that is...’
We do not want to see what you are about to eat unless you are able to pack some for me and drop it off on the way home. Do that and I will then be more than happy to receive your pointless food selfie.
