Quite enjoyed it, but now it's over & done with.
In our tiny family we get our "youngsters" to nominate the Taylor "Christmas Day". Sometimes it's on the 25th December, sometimes it's not. They have other people to consider & we're pretty flexible.
So 20th December was nominated. A Rovers home fixture. Ideas for presents were exchanged, menus debated, who's buying what, more or less agreed.
We've kind of got a template of how the day should go, but it's flexible.
We attended our Carol Service during the week preceding. We'd had a drink with friends too.
We convened at our house, teas & toast, presents swapped & opened. I made some nice soup & bread. Rovers attended & thankfully 3 points gained. Drink after to allow the crowd & traffic to disperse. Home, various folk doing various tasks. Time to take our seats, crackers pulled, corks popped, some lovely good consumed. A family game of cards played, eyes tiring, beds biding.
We had a great day...hope yours goes well...
Do you have a routine? What's your favourite bit?
Hope we all remember those more isolated & lonely too...
