OUR schools, colleges and educational institutions are among the best in the country. The standard of education remains high thanks to dedicated staff and the hard work of students.
Schools across East Lancashire continue to receive outstanding and good reports from education watchdog Ofsted.
And the Lancashire Telegraph is now shining a light on these superb schools with its education awards.
Entries have flooded in for the various categories ranging from most inspirational teacher, unsung hero, best primary and best secondary headteachers.
Time is now of the essence for schools wishing to enter as there are just three days left before nominations close.
The awards have also been hailed as important by the Prime Minister during a recent visit to Pendle. He praised them for encouraging attainment and aspiration.
The Prime Minister believes, as we do, that we have some extremely talented teachers and students who deserve recognition.
We should all be proud of our schools as they are often over-looked.
Our awards aim to redress the balance and give our schools something to cheer about over the years.
