Whitworth may raises nearly £10,000
Whitworth’s outgoing mayor Coun David Chorlton raised £9,600 for various local charities during his mayoral year.
The money was presented to representatives of a total of 24 charities and organisations that work to benefit the Whitworth community at the council’s annual general meeting.
Coun Chorlton said: “We’re sure the money will be put to very good use by all the recipients, and thank everyone involved in our mayoral year for making it such an enjoyable experience."
