FRIENDS of mobility scooter campaigner Geoffrey West paid a special tribute to him at his funeral.
Mr West died of a suspected heart attack at home in Hempshaw Avenue, Loveclough, on Friday, April 15.
At his funeral other mobility scooter users formed a guard of honour behind his cortege as a mark of respect.
In 2005 the great-grandfather of two braved the elements to ride 4,000 miles along the UK coastline on his bright yellow mobility scooter and also broke a world record travelling between John O’Groats and Land’s End.
Mr West also spearheaded a campaign to raise £450,000 to fund the launch of Burnley’s Shopmobility scheme.
