ENVIRONMENTAL health officers are to carry out a survey in Weir to find the cause of a petrol smell in the village.
Lancashire Fire and Rescue have attended the village on five occasions in recent weeks after they received complaints of the smell within properties.
It was thought someone may have been pouring petrol down the drains until it was suggested a piece of land above Heald Lane was once a petrol station.
