A man who regularly took methadone and drank alcohol died two days after being taken to hospital complaining of sickness.
An inquest was told Stephen McDermott, 40, moved into the Mount Pleasant Caravan Park, Whitworth, a temporary base for homeless people, on November 11.
The hearing was told Mr McDermott was taken to Rochdale Infirmary on November 19 but refused to be examined. He was found dead on the Monday.
A post-mortem examination found Mr McDermott, who had potentially fatal levels of methadone, died after he suffered a ruptured spleen which could have been caused by a fall.
East Lancashire coroner Richard Taylor recorded a verdict of accidental death.
