A NO waiting at any time' area is to be set on Burnley Road in Weir.
The order will prevent cars parking outside the new community centre and causing access problems for through-traffic and residents trying to access their properties.
Local residents had proposed the scheme and were supported by the police, as they were concerned that on average, 5,144 vehicles were using Burnley road per day.
Residents who attended a meeting on the issue said they were in favour of restrictions. One objector said that cars parked on Burnley Road act as natural traffic calmers and was concerned that imposing waiting restrictions would only serve to encourage the "appaling speeding problems along the road."
