A WOMAN who got behind the wheel while banned and over the limit has been warned by Burnley magistrates she could go to jail.
The court was told how machine operator Patricia Cameron, 44, was disqualified until she took an extended retest. She had taken it twice, but failed part of it.
Cameron, who told police she had had four halves of lager, gave a test showing 56microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.
Cameron, of Knowsley Crescent, Whitworth, admitted driving while disqualified, drink driving, and having no insurance. She was bailed until February 5, for a pre-sentence report and the bench said custody was being considered.
The court was told police saw Cameron just after midnight and followed her towards Bacup. Cameron stopped, officers spoke to her and noticed her breath smelled of drink.
Kevin Preston, defending, said Cameron had had a number of personal problems, but had now held down a job for three years.
