ROSSENDALE-born DJ Andy Kershaw has been jailed for three months for breaking a restraining order involving his ex-partner.
The 48-year-old BBC radio presenter, who grew up in Whitworth, had admitted breaking the order, which prevents him from seeing Juliette Banner.
Miss Banner, the mother of his two children, described Kershaw as "menacing and provocative" when he approached her and her new partner, Glaswegian prison officer Jim Imrie, on the Isle of Man on November 2 last year.
Kershaw was given a three-month suspended jail term in October after admitting hara-ssing Miss Banner and was ordered to stay away from her.
Passing sentence at the High Bailiffs' Court in Douglas on the Isle of Man, High Bailiff Michael Moyle said Kershaw's life was turning into a "Greek tragedy".
He added: "You seem hellbent on destroying yourself and you do not seem to appreciate that the author of your destruction is yourself."
Defending, Nigel Cordwell told the court Kershaw would accept any decision to imprison him "stoically". He added: "It is devastating to Mr Kershaw that he finds himself in this humiliating situation."
