A MAN who smashed his way into his ex-girlfriend's home and then attacked her could be facing jail.

Burnley magistrates heard how James Thomas, 28, grabbed the victim, pushed her against the wall, threw her on to a settee and hit her on the back if her head.

He then pinned her down as she screamed and her three year old daughter came into the room. The court was told the defendant had climbed into her home after breaking a window.

Thomas, of Westgate, Whitworth, admitted criminal damage and common assault. He was bailed until December 19, for an all options pre-sentence report.
