A SHAWFORTH school is asking people to lend items from the 1960s as part of Rossendale Revival weekend in September.
St John with St Michael CE Primary School is looking for old photographs, newspaper cuttings, clothing and almost anything else from the era.
In particular, the project will focus on houses in Leavengreave Court and Knowsley Crescent, St Michael’s and Leavengreave County School, transport such as trains and trams, churches including Shawforth Chapel and St John’s, working life at the mills and elsewhere and family life.
A spokesman for Whitworth Town Council said: “The school can copy any photographs that you have.
“If anyone is available to speak to the children about Shawforth in the 1960s it would be a great way for the children to do note taking and you would be warmly welcomed.
“Please tell anyone you think might be able to help the school about the project.”
To get in touch with the school, email class3@sjsm. lancs.sch.uk, or call 01706 852614 and ask for Miss Kenyon.
