AN ambitious proposal has been put forward to bring a rundown landmark in Rising Bridge back to life as a beef farm.
Haslingden-based Jan Mohammed has lodged plans with Rossendale Council which would see Pewit Hall, in Back Lane, fully restored.
In a design statement drawn up by agents, he has told planners he had bought the farm and intended to live in the main building with his extended family, while farming the land for his beef supply business.
This would see the farmhouse incorporated into a larger building with a linked barn and other outbuildings.
Some taller outbuildings in the south-west corner of the site would be demolished.
The property is thought to have constructed in the 1840s or before and appears on early Ordnance Survey maps of the area.
