A POLICE officer from the Ramsbottom area has denied raping a woman.
PC Stuart Jenkins, 37, of Springfield Road, Holcombe Brook, is alleged to have raped a woman in Bury, between December 24, 2010 and January 1, 2011.
The officer works for the Greater Manchester force, and was part of the Rochdae South neighbourhood policing team.
He has been suspended from duties pending the outcome of the court case.
He appeared at Preston Crown Court, and entered a not guilty plea to one count of rape.
The case was adjourned, and he will appear at the same venue on March 24 next year for a five-day trial.
