A DRINK driver who was almost three times the limit, was fined £500.
Burnley magistrates heard how engineer Paul Michael Andrew, 28, gave a sample which showed 98 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when he was stopped by police in Burnley Road East, Waterfoot, on May 19. The legal limit is 35.
The defendant, of Queensway, Newchurch, admitted drink driving.
He must pay £85 costs, with a £35 victim surcharge and was banned from driving for two years.
Jeremy Coleman, for Andrew, said he had no previous convictions. The defendant worked in Heywood and although he wouldn't lose his job because of the conviction, he would now have to use public transport.
