A ROSSENDALE village has been named as having one of the top ten romantic place names in the UK.
Loveclough came seventh in the romance rankings, which were compiled by the AA ahead of Valentine’s Day.
Nigel Philips, from the motor insurance and travel company, said: “Though romance may be a dying art, our forefathers obviously had romance closer at heart when naming places.
“There are many places in the United Kingdom whose names reveal a romantic connection in their past.
“Unfortunately for many of these, the real history behind their names is long forgotten “So many place names in the UK are quaint and quirky and AA Route Planner can help any romantics out there find the best place to take their loved one for a Valentine’s treat.”
The list was topped by Lovesome Hill, near Northallerton, North Yorkshire.
