A NEW report on the north's formidable farmers has recognised the diversification efforts of an East Lancashire smallholding.
Gazegill Organics, near Rimington, has been singled out by Barclays for its efforts on selling eco-friendly produce online and investing in renewable energy.
Emma Robinson and Ian O'Reilly began by converting an old piggery and later opened a farm shop.
Their e-commerce operation was established to cater for demand and they now produce 600 boxes of organic fare each week.
The pair have also been exploring self-sufficiency, with a turbine, solar panels and an air-source heat pump all installed there.
Barclays has unveiled the report as hosts a series of Brexit clinics for business. For your nearest one go online to barclays.co.uk
