PROPOSALS to partially rebuild a 19th Century Merseyside stately home in the Ribble Valley have been put on hold.
Ribble Valley Council received a planning application that would have seen Denisfield House, Rimington Lane, Rimington, demolished and a new six-bedroom house built on the site.
Under the proposals, the new home would include the front elevation of Sandown Hall, a stately home built in Wavertree, near Liverpool, in 1810.
At a meeting of Ribble Valley Council's planning and development committee, councillors decided they needed more time to assess the impact of such a development, in particular the colour of stone used for the façade.
A sample panel of the stone will be constructed to give councillors an idea of the build before a decision is made.
