A 19th CENTURY Merseyside stately home could be partially rebuilt in a Ribble Valley village if plans are approved.
Ribble Valley Council has received a planning application that would see Denisfield House, Rimington Lane, Rimington, demolished and a new six-bedroom house built on the site.
Under the plans, the new home would include the front elevation of Sandown Hall, a stately home built in the village of Wavertree, near Liverpool, in 1810.
In 2000 Sandown Hall was granted listed building consent to be demolished, as long as it was rebuilt elsewhere.
Stones from the front of the building were individually numbered so an accurate reconstruction could be attempted at a later date and they are now in storage at a warehouse near Warrington.
The applicant for the Rimington development is Tony Ford, who is being represented by Hayes and Partners, of Macclesfield, Cheshire.
Mr Ford is the founder and chief executive of Manchester and Leeds-based accountancy firm Ford Campbell. He declined to comment.
The significantly younger Denisfield home last sold in 2005 for £1million If plans are given the green light, the new property would include six bedrooms, four bathrooms, a swimming pool, and gym.
In a letter to the council, Hayes and Partners outlined what the development would hope to achieve.
They said: "The prospect of creating a fine new house, within landscaped gardens, gives the opportunity to save the key historic features from a fine building from the 19th century."
