A CLOSED pub in Rimington could be converted into a community centre if plans are approved next week.
A meeting will be held in the village on Wednesday after plans were put forward by a number of residents for the The Black Bull.
The pub closed in October and was placed on the Community Asset Register by Rimington Parish Council.
The list allows groups to register their interest before the pub goes on general sale on June 9.
More than 40 people attended a previous public meeting at the Rimington Memorial Institute shortly after the pub’s closure.
If the pub is not taken on by a new group, the pub’s co-owners, Steve Hodgson and Katherine Lachance, intend to turn it into a house.
The meeting will take place at Rimington Memorial Institute in Stoppers Lane at 8pm.
It has been organised by the Rimington Recreational Association.
