COMMUNITY groups wishing to bid to take over the running of a Rimington pub have until January 13 to register their interest.
Earlier this month, villagers rejected the chance to save the Black Bull after it closed in October.
Only six people attended an emergency meeting to discuss the future of the pub after it was placed on the Community Asset Register by Rimington Parish Council.
The move secured the chance for the community to bid for the pub before any other group.
If the pub is not taken on by a new group, the pub’s co-owners, Steve Hodgson and Katherine Lachance, intend to convert the building into a house.
