A garden centre has struck gold for the third time at a prestigious flower show.
Holden Clough Nursery, near Bolton-By-Bowland, won its latest prize for its autumn-themed colourful display at the Harrogate Autumn Flower Show.
The display included a range of flowering perennials including asters, heleniums and other autumn-flowering plants and shrubs.
The flower show saw the largest crowds since it began despite heavy rain.
It marked a triple success for the nursery which also won awards at shows in Tatton Park and Southport earlier this year.
Nursery owner and inaugural BBC Young Gardener of the Year John Foley said: “I’m very proud of what we have achieved this year and winning three awards in a row is fantastic. It’s a great buzz going to these shows and competing against some of the best in the country.
“I put our success down to the quality of the plants that we look after here and the attention that we give them.
“It’s a great feeling to have won three gold medals this year and I hope that we can continue our winning streak into 2014.”
The nursery’s latest success comes after two gold medals won in 2012.
John, who runs the 86-year-old nursery with his partner Kate Lawson, said: “I’m very proud of all of our awards and we have all worked very hard to make sure that we are always competing with the best.
“All the plants we take to shows are just the ones that are on sale, we don’t keep back some just for shows, so anybody can buy our gold-medal winning flowers at the nursery.”
