PLANS to build a house on the edge of Osbaldeston have been rejected by Ribble Valley Borough Council.
Osbaldeston Parish Council, and three letters from residents, objected to the proposal.
They said the site was isolated and the building was unsustainable, would impact the highway safety of the area and affect wildlife.
Applicant Kevin Crook, speaking before the decision was made, said: “This will be the first new building in the area for 30 years.
“It will provide a young family, who are living in temporary accomodation, a good home.”
Judith Douglas, speaking on behalf of objecting residents, said: “New developments in the countryside should only be constructed in special circumstances.
“The site is an unsustain-able location.”
and it will offer any benefit to the area.”
Coun Bibby said: “It would be very difficult to class this site as anything else but in the countryside and I do think that that I would be able to support it.”
