* As rival parties turn on the Lib Dems’ policies following their surge in the polls, the spotlight could fall on BAE Systems’ £3billion Eurofighter Typhoon deal.
The project accounts for thousands of jobs at the defence giant’s Samlesbury site and across East Lancashire.
But the Liberal Democrats, who have been in first place in some recent polls, have pledged to scrap the third tranche in their manifesto.
* Salim Sidat, Labour candidate for Audley in Blackburn, introduces himself on his leaflets as, among other things, the President of Regent Lions Club.
He actually held the post between 2006 and 2007.
Unfortunately for him, the current president is Alan Dean, a Liberal Democrat agent and candidate for Mill Hill, who was quick to correct him.
Mr Sidat blamed a printing mistake.
* Former Burnley carpenter Chris Coates is standing for the Green Party in Morecambe.
He is currently the party’s only representative on Lancashire County Council.
* The Tories’ attempts to leaflet Chorley are not getting any better.
On Monday I revealed 3,000 had been delivered with the wrong spelling of candidate Alan Cullens’ name.
Now a resident of Cleethorpes (130 miles from Chorley) tells me Mr Cullens’ latest flier has dropped through his door.
“Good luck to him, but he won’t get much support where I live”, said the recipient.
A Conservative spokesman said there might have been “overspill” when the leaflets were sorted at central office.
* They might be trailing in my big hitters campaign visit contest, but I hear the Lib Dems are confident of securing a visit from man-of-the-moment Nick Clegg to Burnley, one of their key target seats, before polling day.
I’ll let you know.
