LOCAL council elections will take place across East Lancashire on the same day as the general election.
One third of seats on Blackburn with Darwen, Burnley, Chorley, Hyndburn, Pendle, and Rossendale councils will be up for grabs.
However, there will be no Lancashire County Council or Ribble Valley Borough Council elections.
Voters will be given both parliamentary and local council ballot papers when they visit the polling booths on May 6.
Blackburn with Darwen. Burnley and Pendle local council elections will be closely followed as the make-up of their ruling coalitions are finely balanced.
The deadline for local council candidates is 12 noon tomorrow.
