A DAD who was visited by Margaret Thatcher in hospital as a toddler after being run over by a car has told of the honour of meeting her.
In 1977, two-year-old Ian Pilkington suffered broken arms, legs and collar bone after his twin brothers released the hand brake of their father’s taxi.
Mrs Thatcher was visiting Accrington Victoria Hospital and sat at his bedside.
Mr Pilkington, manager of Station Garage, Paxton Street, Accrington, said: “I’ve always thought of it as very special.”
