THE annual bonfire in Laneshaw Bridge will take place on Saturday, November 3.
The free event has grown every year, and in 2011 more than 1,000 people attended.
The fire will be lit at 7.30pm, and there will be refreshments available, as well as a barbecue and hog roast.
The event also features a firework display which can be seen for miles, and people will be able to get their hands on bonfire favourites such as toffee apples.
Events committee chairman Paul White said: “This is a key event which attracts people from miles around.
“The attendance at the event is actually much greater than the population of the village, and it’s really because of the weeks of hard manual work from Jim Knowles and his team and members of the committee that it has become so popular.”
Sponsors for the event include the Alma Inn, PH Electrical and Conlon Construction.
