A ROUTE between Lancashire and Yorkshire has been closed this morning as a result of debris being washed onto the road following the heavy overnight rain.
The road known locally as Lancashire Moor Road runs from Laneshawbridge to Howarth and was closed at around 5.00am this morning.
Lancashire County Council highway teams are on site at the moment clearing the debris and expect the road to reopen this afternoon It is estimated that around 30 to 40 tonnes of debris have been washed onto the road, with major diversions are needed to use alternative routes.
