A motorcyclist died in a road collision at Blacko yesterday.

The incident took place around 4.35pm on the A682 Gisburn Road, when a Ford Transit travelling towards Gisburn was in collision with the motorcyclist, who was travelling in the opposite direction.

The 47-year-old motorcyclist, from Nelson, was airlifted to the Royal Preston Hospital, where he died.

The road was closed for more than three hours to allow an investigation to take place.
