PLANS to demolish a Pendle primary school and build a replacement nearby will go before Lancashire County Council today.
But a decision on the new Laneshawbridge Primary School could be delayed after councillors were advised to visit the site before making a decision.
In a report to county councillors, planning officer Catherine Lewis said: “Planning permission is sought for the construction of a replacement primary school which would provide modern purposed designed facilities to replace the existing Victorian school.
“The existing school would be demolished and the land would from part of the development of a wider site.
“The new primary school would cater for 210 pupils between the ages of four and 11 years old.”
Laneshawbridge Parish Council has objected to the plans.
The school currently houses 174 pupils.
