VILLAGERS were inspired by one of their own as the annual fair in Foulridge kicked off on Saturday.
Military charity Help for Heroes was one of the cause supported by the day-long fair, paying respect to Gregg Stevenson, 24, the commando soldier who lost both his legs while on active service.
Army cadets helped to marshal the event, which saw hundreds descend on the tiny village near Colne, and a balloon race was held for Gregg.
