AN ANNUAL car raffle has raised more than £20,000 for a Pendle charity.
Representatives from sponsors of the Pendleside Hospice Annual Car Raffle, visited the Reedley-based facility to present a cheque for £23,808.
The raffle was launched in April and tickets have been sold throughout the summer, culminating in the draw, at The Muni, on Friday September 19.
Julie Eastwood, of Burnley won the Citroen C4 special edition Loeb, which was sponsored by Toms Stationers, SFN Solicitors and John Macadam Garages.
Simon Aldham, of Walker Farrimond, Stephen Alderson and John Horan, of Alderson and Horan Funeral Services and Darren Turner, of Indigo Financial Advice, presented the cheque to Kaye Bartle, the hospice fundraising manager.
She said: “We are delighted with the outcome of this year’s car raffle.
“The support of our sponsors means that all the costs of the raffle are covered so that every £1 raised from the sale of tickets goes directly towards caring for our patients.
“We are very grateful to them and to everyone that supported the raffle by buying a ticket.”
