A PENDLE man has raised more than £500 for charity by completing the Great North Run.
Neil Thompson took part in the 13-mile challenge, on October 5, for the fourth time and raised £560 for Pendleside Hospice.
The local joiner, who has raised £935 on previous occasions, completed the race in one hour and fifty-nine minutes.
He said he chose the hospice, based at Reedley, ‘for the excellent care they provide’.
Liz Dalglish, community fundraiser at the hospice, said: “The support we have had from people who have sponsored our runners is outstanding and we are very grateful.”
Anyone interested in taking part in next year’s Great North Run, in aid of the hospice, should get in touch with Liz on 01282 440136.
