A ‘BUFF’ butcher and bistro manager are preparing to ditch traditional uniforms for something a little more revealing, all in the aid of Comic Relief.
‘Do something funny for money’ is this year’s campaign slogan, so while butchers Roaming Roosters serve food by day, by night they’ll be rustling up and serving anything you like, wearing little more than aprons.
Customers at the Barrowford Road, Higham shop are being given the chance to bid for farm shop manager George Cropper and bistro manager Patrick Macadam, for one night only.
The auction will run up until March 12 across the company’s social media platforms.
George Cropper, farm shop manager said, “When we were asked to give up a night for Comic Relief, we thought ‘why not?’.
“We didn’t expect to be here in aprons and not much else.
“But we’re up for a laugh and for doing our bit for charity, so here goes.”
George and Patrick are happy to cook, serve drinks, wash up and even do the ironing for the winning bidders.
“I just hope they don’t have us cleaning their house, I don’t think they’d be too impressed,” said Paddy.
“The ideal evening would be a group of people who had clubbed money together to win our services.
We promise to be great entertainment, so get bidding!”
Bidding starts at £20, so those available on Friday, March 13 and would love to relax while George and Paddy take on some hard work, and have a shed load of laughs at the same time, get on facebook or twitter, or email: fiona@roamingroosters.co.uk to place a bid.
