ALLEYGATES are being considered as part of a bid to curb anti-social behaviour for residents in Reedley.
Residents of Reedley Road have become fed-up with troublemakers congregating on Back Reedley Road.
In a petition presented to the Brierfield and Reedley area committee householders complained that mud had been hurled at their homes, graffiti daubed on fences and stone flags stolen.
Funding for the alleygates of £1,652 was secured by former ward councillor Pauline McCormick earlier this year.
An approach will also be made to Lancashire County Council to request that Back Reedley Road is ‘stopped up’, so the gates can be installed effectively.
This would avoid, if a challenge occurs over the highway, the gates either being removed or fixed in an ‘open’ position.
