THE ANNUAL Laneshaw Bridge community bonfire event takes place on Saturday.
This year, the event is being organised by the Laneshaw Bridge Community Enterprise, with some help from the parish council.
From 4pm to 5pm the Village Hub, in Keighley Road, will be running a competition for the best Guy Fawkes – just take your entry down for submission.
They will then be put on the bonfire and the winner will be announced before the bonfire is lit, with prizes for first, second and third place.
From 5pm food and drinks will be available at the bonfire site in Emmott Lane then the bonfire will be lit at 6pm, with the firework display at 7pm.
Donation buckets will be available for contributions to the cost of the event. Organisers request that people don’t take their own fireworks, including sparklers, onto the field.
It is also requested for health and safety reasons that people do not park on Emmott Lane should the emergency services require access.
