RESIDENTS have been advised on how to report problems with dogs in Colne.
Pendle Council, police and the RSPCA have come together to produce a leaflet advising people on issues ranging from concerns over a dog’s behaviour to what to do if they witness an attack.
The leaflet contains all contacts people need and has been funded by the council’s Colne Area Committee.
Chairman Coun Graham Waugh said: “It can be confusing knowing who to report these things to.
“Of course, any calls to the council will be shared with the relevant organisation.
“But sometimes time is of the essence and a call needs to be made quickly, particularly if someone witnesses a dog attack on another animal or a dog that appears to be agitated enough to attack.
“Together with the police and RSPCA, we wanted to make sure people had the right contacts in one place.”
The information in the leaflet is also available online at www.pendle.gov.uk/dogs
