A PENDLE park is hosting a new family fun day next month.
Barrowford Park is staging the village's Lifestyle Festival on Saturday, July 4, between 10am and 8pm.
The event will feature a food and crafts fair bringing together the best of local food, drink, art and hand-crafted products.
Festival organisers are planning plenty of children’s activities including crafts in the barn, a treasure hunt and duck race, and storytelling sessions led by Lancashire Libraries.
Traditional festival activities on offer include a fun tug of war and afternoon tea by the lake. There will also be vintage car displays, plus fly-fishing and golf demonstrations.
Local bands and musicians will provide the soundtrack, including big band singer Russell Shaun, 1940s inspired harmony group The Sparkle Sisters and Pendle’s own Kiki DeVille, star of BBC1’s The Voice.
Festival organiser Michelle Berkins said: "We’re aiming for a fresh, modern family event full of fun activities for every age group.
“What better way to spend a summer’s afternoon than with a glass of Pimms in hand, listening to some great local music.”
Cllr Nadeem Ahmed, Pendle Council’s executive member for communities, parks and recreation, said: "The festival sounds the perfect place to meet up with friends and the activities on offer are sure to appeal to families with children of varying ages.”
Entry to the festival is £2.50 for adults, with children admitted free.
