POLICE in Burnley said there has been a spike in burglaries across the borough, but especially in the Lanehead and Harle Syke areas.

Officers attended two burglaries in Harle Syke on Tuesday, where thieves targeted vehicle keys as well as other property.

On Sunday night, an empty house was targeted, and a car in Matlock Gove had property taken from it.

PCSO Rachel Lonsdale said: “Please make sure that you are secure at night despite the warm weather.”
