BACUP and Accrington were among the top 10 worst performing towns in terms of house prices in the first half of 2014, according to new figures.
Property website Zoopla said homes across Britain had typically added £90 to their value every day for the first half of the year as the housing market gathered momentum.
In North West England, prices have increased typically by £10,591 over the last six months, which is equating to a £58 a day increase.
But in Bacup, prices have gone down £1,457 and in Accrington, £1,300, making them the fifth and sixth worst performers in the country.
Zoopla’s calculations were based on a formula it uses to work out the market value of a home on any given day.
