A 30-year-old man appeared before Burnley magistrates, accused of assaulting Sabila Khan by beating her at Burnley, on July 13. Hamid Zaman, of Edmund Street in the town, denied the allegation and is awaiting trial. He was bailed until September 30, on condition he does not enter Clegg Street or contact the alleged victim.
